Got Lost While Cooking

Is it possible to get lost when cooking? I was doing one of my casserole things. Onions and mushrooms were sauted w/garlic. Brown rice was steamed. One of my favorite ingredients at the moment, is chard. I found some of that, by happy luck, in the fridge. Spegetti sauce boiled, veggies were added. But, I had no parmesian cheese. I looked in the fridge. I scoured the cupboards. Nada. How can I cook a speghettish tomatoey casserole without parmesian cheese? I did what I could. There was fumbling with bread crumbs and cottage cheese. But, I fear it’s not the same.

Lately, I have been busy and not eating supper. This means that I don’t have left overs for lunch, which means I go out and get a club sandwich from Christies. Club sandwiches from Christies are goooooooood. This makes them very BAD.

So, tonight, I make myself cook. Things percolate and bubble and steam. Everything’s going well. But, somehow, the parmesian incident really threw me off. I sort of got lost. I have no idea what I made. It’s in the final baking stage in the oven. I hope it turns out okay. It’s 8:30 at night and I am so hungry that I feel a little nauseous.

The kitchen is a mess. I think I used every pot I own. If it’s icky, I’ll be really annoyed. Wish me luck.
